skin care routine

i recently decided that i needed a set skin care routine. something that i could keep up on and not slack away from. i'm a big believer in clinque products and chose them for my skin care set. they have different sets for different skin types which is very helpful and makes it more personal.

i have combination skin, so i chose the skin type 2 set.

my skin care routine:
1. at night, i remove my makeup with hydrating neutrogena makeup remover wipes.
2. i use the clinique cleanser to wash my face.
3. using cottonballs, i apply the clinique clarifying lotion aka toner all over my face and neck.
4. i then apply the clinique dramatically different moisturizer.
5. if i'm getting ready for bed, i put on the sample of moisture surge i got with the set for extra moisture over the lotion.

i do this twice a day! morning and night. this is new for me but i plan on keeping up with it strictly. i've never had great skin and hopefully this new routine will help improve it.

i am now a proud owner of the urban decay naked2 palette and i absolutely LOVE it! i've been trying to order it since it came out and i got it as an early christmas gift.

i was never able to get my hands on the naked palette so i was really excited to get this one. it's not exactly everyone's ideal price but it is so worth it. amazing colors for any occasion!

hair products

as someone who loves hair and is an aspiring hairstylist, i'm obligated to make a list of my favorite hair products. most of them can be purchased at a local hair salon, depending on what products they carry, or amazon.com. you'll notice these aren't drugstore products and are a bit pricey but definitely worth it.

aquage vitalizing shampoo

my hair is pretty thick but i like to have a lightweight shampoo and this is the perfect one.

schwarzkopf-professional bc bonacure, color save silver shampoo

i'm currently in the process of going all blonde and this silver shampoo has been the biggest help. i used to have blonde hair with red lowlights and coloring my hair all blonde the first time didn't exactly give me the results i wanted, as expected. if you've colored your hair blonde and are having trouble with a yellow or orange tint, this is perfect for getting the whiter look.

aquage equalizing detangler

i've been using this for awhile now and it ended my search for a good conditioner. my biggest problem with all the conditioners i've used in the past is how heavy they were and this is just the right amount. it makes my hair shiny and smooth and detangles while using it.

aquage silkening oil treatment

this is my absolute favorite hair product EVER. it makes your hair shiny and smooth without weighing it down. if you blowdry your hair it speeds up the process, and it also protects your hair color. i recommend this to everyone!

aquage beyond shine

this has to be my second favorite hair product. i think it's safe to say we've ALL used flat irons and curling irons on our hair, with the thought of it damaging our hair in the back of our minds. there's many heat protectant products out there but this one is slightly different. the bottle is identical to a hairspray bottle and comes out in that form as well. the best thing about it? it doesn't weigh your hair down the least bit, so you can keep volume. not to mention it does indeed make your hair shiny!

aquage freezing spray

ah, last but not least, hair spray. this freezing spray is just that, freezing spray. keeps everything in place just like you'd expect.

new artist

i discovered a new music artist the other day and i thought i'd share. her name is jillian edwards and she's a singer/songwriter from texas. her second album headfirst came out on nov 15th and i'm absolutely in love with it. you can get it on itunes for around $7, as well as her other album galaxies & such, which i have yet to listen to.

i recommend listening to the whole album but no other plans and you've got me are a couple of my favorites.
